From start to finish we put 149.5 hours into Troubadour Studios with Corey DeRushia in Lansing, MI. That includes recording and mixing all of the 12 tracks that will be appearing on the new album, "Release Your Shrouds."

After the first 10 days of steady recording we started gigging again, beginning in the UP. Before our first gig, however, we took a trip to the camp my grandfather built and endearingly named "Camp Bitch-a-little." (I shit you not.)

April. The month that marks the day I took my first breath and the biggest month yet for Lindsay Lou & the Flatbellys. With such a theme of "new life", it would appear a cosmic fate that this month resides in the spring. A new life. One spent on the road and in the homes of new friends in a new state each night. New songs, each with a life and personality of its own, and a new album to contain them all. And a new partnership! It gives me so much happiness to announce publicIy that our band is now working with John and Lucy at The Americana Agency as our sole booking agent! They represent a small lineup of cream-of-the-crop musicians, and we are honored to be a part of this musical family! Check out the new page on their website:

My heart and mind are full to the brim right now as I look ahead at what's to come. It's true that if you surround yourself with amazing people, you will lead an amazing life, and I am happy and proud to say that I'm in the thick of it! Tomorrow we'll be making the long journey up to the U.P. where we're going to take a day of rest and and put the sauna my dad built with his own hands to good use!

Dear month of May- you've got yourself a tough act to follow.

Love,
Lindsay
Here are some photos from the studio. Enjoy! :)
